This checklist is a visual self-assessment tool only. It is designed to assist business owners and property managers in identifying their fire safety inventory and spotting obvious visual faults.
This is not a Certification: Completion of this checklist does not constitute a formal fire safety inspection, audit, or service under Australian Standard AS 1851. It cannot be used for insurance purposes, Annual Fire Safety Statements (AFSS), or council compliance.
Professional Service Required: Under Australian law, all fire protection equipment must be tested, tagged, and recorded by a qualified technician every 6 months. Using this guide does not replace your legal obligation to have a technician attend your site to perform professional testing and maintenance.
